Son Quest Youth Camp

“Camp is where we learned about ourselves; facing fears, trying new things, pushing our boundaries and accepting ourselves.”

This summer we will challenge the campers to know what it means to really “own” their own faith rather than just automatically or blindly follows the footsteps of friends or parents. We will seek to discover what it means to own their faith instead of renting, borrowing or faking. We will discuss the biblical concept of taking hold of their faith, and allowing God’s love to take hold of them. We will be challenged to surrender to God by loving Him more than anything else.

Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church of Selma will be attending summer camp the week of July 23 – 27, 2018. This year camp will be held at Church of God Pee Dee Campground in Marion, SC. We would like to invite your youth to attend camp with us.  We accept boys and girls, ages 8-18. If your church would like to send a counselor(s), we will be glad to meet with them to discuss what being a counselor involves.  The cost is $160 per person. This includes: t-shirt, lesson material, meals and snacks, transportation to and from camp, use of camp facilities.

A day at camp includes morning devotions, group activities including teaching and fun interaction, all centered on the main topic for the week. Afternoon has quiet time and recreational activities that include swimming, gym, games, playground and more. We have evening chapel time with a motivated guest speaker bringing the Word of God to the campers on their level. We also have praise and worship and prayer time.

If you are interested and would like more information or would like for someone to come to your church to explain more about camp and answer any questions, just let us know. Last year we had 130 youth and 35 adult counselors (representing 22 churches) attend camp. We will have two registered nurses with us during the week of camp and adults who are certified in CPR and First Aid. We strive to keep the youth safe physically, while sharing the Word of God and ministering to their souls.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you have youth that would like to attend, as we are in the process of ordering teaching materials, crafts and activities. Camp forms are due May 31st, and payment is due by July 15th. We have enclosed camp applications (request more or make copies if needed), medicine forms, list of what to bring and the rules of conduct for the week.
